THE LAST NIGHT OF THE OKI DOG LOGO

History

From the late 1970’s until 1985, the Oki Dog was notorious; it was hard-core Hollywood and part of LA’s seamy underbelly. It was a hangout for punk rock musicians, teenage runaways, male and female hustlers, gays, lesbians, drag queens, druggies, video game wizards, writers who never wrote a word, actors who never acted, would be rock and roll stars from Texas and Oklahoma, and kids from the San Fernando Valley in search of a good time. Older folks would stop by looking for companionship and be willing to pay for it. Everything at the Oki Dog was a transaction. Every night was an adventure.
